One sign of the change are new boarding columns (shown here) you can see at the Southwest gates in Terminal 1 East (gates 1-10).
Although the boarding procedure still utilizes Southwest's old A, B and C boarding group system, you are now assigned a number as well as a letter (your number is based on the order you checked in).
Enjoy the photo of the new columns, along with one of me checking out the system (thanks to Marla and Elsie). Southwest Airlines has even put up a cool guide to their new boarding system on the Web.

It is great to see how Southwest Airlines makes change and helps their customers with this change in such a fun, simple, and understandable way. I love the instruction flip book! I wanted to read the entire book because it was different - not boring - but the end result is the education of the new boarding process! Kudos to SWA.
From what I witness while watching the passengers utilize the new boarding system, the passengers seem to be much more relaxed. They walk up when their group is called - but they are walking up with coffee, magazines, food - all supporting the Airport Master Plan! Kudos again SWA for encouraging our passengers to enjoy the Airport services!
By the way, the photos are fabulous!
